You can schedule workflows to run at pre-decided time intervals as an administrator. The scheduled workflows execute at the set time without any user intervention. It makes the automation of certain processes easier. You can

  • Create new schedules
  • Run Workflow executions
  • Monitor Workflow execution status
  • Edit the existing schedules
  • Search for Schedules
  • Activate or Deactivate Schedules
  • Delete schedules when they are no longer needed.

Understanding the Workflow Monitoring Home Page

The Workflow Monitoring home page is shown below.

The following table explains various fields on the Workflow Monitoring Home Page.

Workspace

Workspace Drop-down

  • Select workspaces, from a multi-select dropdown, whose workflows you want to view.
  • The list shows the most recently created workspaces at the top.
  • Use the search box to search for a particular workspace.
  • The default selection is All; all the workspaces are selected.
  • Any filter applied to the Workspace is applied further in descending order to
    • Project
    • Workflow
    • Workflow list
  • Thus, when you select a workspace,
    • The Project drop-down displays all the projects in the selected Workspace.
    • The Workflow drop-down displays all the workflows in the selected projects.
    • The Workflow list displays the executions of all the above workflows
  • Click
    • Done to confirm the selection
    • Clear All to clear the checkboxes for all Workspaces
    • Select All to select all Workspaces

Projects

Project Drop-down

  • Select a project whose workflows you want to view.
  • The list shows the most recently created projects at the top.
  • The default selection is All; all the projects are selected.
  • Use the search box to search for a particular project.
  • Any filter applied to the Project is applied further in descending order to
    • Workflow
    • Workflow list
  • Thus, when you select a project,
    • The Workflow drop-down displays all the workflows in the selected projects.
    • The Workflow list displays the details of all the above workflows
  • The filter applied to the Project does NOT apply to Workspace.
  • Click
    • Done to confirm the selection
    • Clear All to clear the checkboxes for all Projects
    • Select All to select all Projects

Workflows

Workflow Monitoring Chart

  • Bar chart of Workflows plotted against Time/Date. For example, in the 24-hour plot, scheWorkflow is the only monitoring workflow.
  • At a time, only five (5) workflows are displayed on the chart. Use the vertical scrollbar to view other workflows.
  • Horizontal bars show the progress of workflows.
  • The bar color corresponds to the workflow status.
    • Green – Completed
    • Orange – Running
    • Red – Failure
    • Gray – Aborted
  • The length of a bar is proportional to workflow execution duration.
  • Hover over any bar to see the workflow execution details on a tooltip:
  • Start and End Date and Time
  • Run Duration
  • Workflow Name (and its Project and Workspace)
  • Status displayed:
    • Running | Completed | Aborted | Failed
  • By default, workflow details for 24 hours are displayed
  • You can change the frequency to
    • 1 hour | 7 days | 1 month
  • To trace and locate Workflow executed for a short period, select a particular graph region (click & drag). The region zooms in and displays Workflow if it is present.
  • To return to the original plot, click Reset zoom.

Workflows (Number)

Workflows Tab

  • Shows the total count of workflows under the tab
  • Displays a list and details of all workflows in the selected Workspace (s) and Project (s).

Active Schedules (Number)

Active Schedules Tab

  • Shows the total count of active schedules under the tab
  • Displays a list and details of all active schedules in the selected Workspace (s) and Project (s).

Inactive Schedules (Number)

Inactive Schedules Tab

  • Shows the total count of inactive schedules under the tab
  • Displays a list and details of all inactive schedules in the selected Workspace (s) and Project (s).


The tabs below the workflow monitoring chart are:

  • Workflows (Number)
  • Active Schedules (Number)
  • Inactive Schedules (Number)

The number in each of the brackets indicates their current count.
